2003 Ranger of the Year Competition

This year, the section hosted it's last Royal Ranger of the Year Competition under the old program. A number of top candidates were at Outpost 61 for the section competition.

Each of these boys were winners and did a great job. Our finalists were:

• Paul, Straight Arrow of the year
• Ameer, Buckaroo of the Year
• Kenny, Pioneer of the year
• Kevin, Trailblazer of the year
• Joan, Challenger of the year

Kenny, Kevin and Joan all earned the right to compete in the Western Division playoffs. The Pioneer, Trailblazer and Challenger winners from each of the five sections in the division all met to compete. Kevin and Kenny attended and did well. Kenny was able to move on to the District playoffs.

The district playoffs were held on a Friday night and Saturday morning in Bakersfield. The winners from each division competed. Our division had a representative for Pioneer and Trailblazer. When the winners were announced, Kenny won the Southern California Pioneer of the Year!
